A Better Way…

Seniors deserve more than safety and supervision.

They deserve beauty, dignity, highly personalized attention, and a true sense of home. Gracewell was born from that belief — a different kind of senior living, less institutional and more like family, in homes built around life, luxury, and love.

Residents, Not Hundreds

Each single-story home welcomes just sixteen residents — an intimate, residential alternative to large-scale facilities, where every caregiver knows every name and every story.

MD

Physician-Founded Care

Founded by Dr. Scott Ries and Becky Ries, a licensed physical therapist assistant — clinical insight into aging, mobility, and quality of life woven into every detail of the home.

Truly Luxury Living

Private suites with en-suite baths and fireplaces, chef-prepared dining, a salon, a navy library, garden rooms, and a landscaped central courtyard with a tiered fountain.

Memory Care with Dignity

Secure, thoughtfully designed memory care programming with meaningful daily engagement — calm, beautiful environments created specifically for those living with memory loss.

The Residences

A grand private home. Never institutional.

The Great Room — vaulted ceiling, stone fireplace, and farm dining tables
The Heart of the Home

The Great Room

Beneath a seventeen-foot vaulted ceiling, a full-height stone fireplace anchors the room where residents gather and dine together at long farm tables. Window walls open onto the courtyard, filling every meal with light.

A private bedroom suite with fireplace, window seat, and en-suite bath
Private Suites

The Bedroom Suite

Every resident enjoys a spacious private suite with its own fireplace, window seat, built-in wardrobe, and en-suite bath with curbless shower — the warmth of home with the comfort of true luxury.

The Library — deep navy walls, arched bookshelves, leather club chairs
Quiet Corners

The Library

Deep navy walls, arched built-in bookshelves, and chocolate leather club chairs gathered around a shared ottoman — a moody, beautiful room for an afternoon chapter or evening conversation by lamplight.

The Garden Room — living plant wall beneath white-oak coffered ceilings
Bringing the Outdoors In

The Garden Room

A sixteen-foot living plant wall framed in white oak rises above cream wainscot, beneath coffered wood ceilings. Airy, green, and full of daylight — a garden that blooms in every season.

The Vintage Tea and Game Room with striped awning and flower cart
Made for Memories

The Vintage Tea & Game Room

A nostalgic European café brought indoors — a striped awning, a wooden flower cart residents arrange themselves, afternoon tea on porcelain, and a chessboard always at the ready. Designed with reminiscence in mind, where everything invites a gentle touch.

The central courtyard at dusk — tiered fountain, pergolas, and glowing windows
The Signature View

The Courtyard

Between the two homes, a formal garden courtyard: a tiered stone fountain ringed by hydrangeas and lavender, white pergolas draped in greenery, and benches for slow evenings as the windows glow gold at dusk.

Our Story

Founded by a physician. Built like a family.

“Gracewell was born from the belief that seniors deserve more than safety and supervision — they deserve beauty, dignity, highly personalized attention, and a true sense of home.”
— Dr. Scott Ries, Founder

Gracewell Senior Living is being developed by physician founder Dr. Scott Ries and his wife, Becky Ries, whose background as a licensed physical therapist assistant brings deep insight into mobility, aging, and quality of life for seniors.

Together, they envisioned a different kind of senior living experience: one that feels less institutional and more like home, while still providing the attentive, expert support families expect for the people they love most.

The result is Gracewell — two intimate homes where smaller scale means stronger relationships between residents, families, and caregivers, and where every daily rhythm is shaped around comfort, dignity, and connection.
